Rose G. Szewc was born in Warsaw, Poland; her family came to the United States when she was four years old. Rose worked as a legal stenographer and, later, as a manager in the Ft. Wayne (Indiana) Department of Western Life Indemnity Company. She contributed poetry to the Indianapolis Star (ca. 1917).
